Venezuelan defender Héctor Bello revealed on social media that his wife Andrea died while protecting her daughter Alana, just one year old, during the earthquakes that hit the city of La Guaira on Wednesday night.
In a publication paying tribute to his wife, Héctor Bello, 28 years old, says that thanks to his sacrifice, his daughter survived following the collapse of the building where the family lived.
“I’m going to make sure our baby knows how wonderful you were and how much you loved her. I’m going to tell her the story of how you saved her, how you gave your own life for our daughter, how you were a brave woman who, even with her last breaths, never abandoned her”, wrote Héctor Bello in an emotional post on social media.
In this long text, the footballer leaves the certainty that “there is one thing” that he cannot forgive: “You left my soul destroyed. You left me alone. We always said that the fight was between both of us.”
Héctor Bello is currently without a club, but until the end of last year he represented Bolívar SC.
Another player, Argentine Lucas Trejo, also announced that his family was missing after the tragedy that affected Venezuela and which is already considered the worst in the last 100 years, with more than 580 dead, almost 3000 injured, in addition to around 200 people trapped in the rubble and more than 24 thousand missing.
