Var Group, the technology company that leads the digital services and solutions sector with a team of more than 4,200 professionals around the worldhas established itself as a fundamental player in the business ecosystem of Andorra through the subsidiary that this multinational has in our country.
The company acts as a “One-Stop partner” for digital transformation, offering 360° solutions ranging from transversal cybersecurity to artificial intelligence (AI) and digital identity. “Our differential value is the diversity of teams we have. This, together with the diversity of suppliers we also have, allows us to provide a wide range of solutions to both small and large clients”, highlights Andreu Tomàs, country manager of Var Group in Andorra.
With an international presence in 16 countries, this technological company takes advantage of its global knowledge to apply it with a proximity approach to the Principality, actively investing to attract talent and consolidate a catalog of specialized services that has already borne fruit such as the successful Digital Wallet of Andorraan application that allows citizens to manage their identity in a personal and secure way.
For the period 2026-2027Var Group has drawn up an interesting roadmap that places Andorra at the forefront of digital innovation, prioritizing data sovereignty and the ethical application of technology. Among the most outstanding milestones, he works on architectures to guarantee Andorra’s sovereignty over those strategic data for the country, or specialized AI tools in different areas, such as legislative or healthcare. To highlight the sports field, in which Var Group works on algorithms to predict injuries through the analysis of game recordings.
This commitment to AI is reinforced by the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certificationbecoming the first Andorran company to achieve it. This certification is the gateway to everything related to Artificial Intelligence in the sector, and applicable to data science, data warehouse, data analysis and data visualization activities. It is also strengthened by the launch of a free governance program so that companies in the country can verify their ethical use of this technology.
Var Group has a solid track record in Andorra, with several notable success stories that reinforce its position as a reference technology partner. Among these, there is the management of artificial intelligence in the Data Intelligence Agency, as well as the protection in terms of cyber security of more than ten critical infrastructures of the country. The company has also developed projects such as the chatbot and the implementation of solutions such as NameBook and SignBook, compliance and digital signature tools widely used by notaries, the real estate sector and in processes linked to risk prevention, delinquency and money laundering. It has also boosted the use of digital identity in the hotel sector, facilitating the safe and efficient registration of customers.
This experience is transferred to multiple sectors – such as tourism, finance, insurance, energy and healthcare – with a diverse client portfolio that includes public and private sectors, thus consolidating a transversal presence in the country’s business fabric.
Security is another of the strategic pillars for the coming years, with the creation of a Security Operations Center (SOC) own in Andorra that will offer control of attacks and hacks 24/7 entirely in Catalan. This service will combine the robust international capacity of the brand with country-key proximity management to protect critical information from both public institutions and the private sector. In this regard, Tomàs explains that “within cyber security there is a very important component which is the cooperation of different teams. At Var Group we can offer what is known as ‘follow the sun’, an ecosystem that allows us to integrate with the rest of the offices that the company has around the world. This means that, always during working hours, there is an open office that is waiting for the customers we have here”.
At the same time, Var Group continues to promote its culture of “Talent Without Limits” and its commitment to sustainability. One of the company’s first social involvements with Andorra has been the collaboration with the Women’s Ski World Cup, held in Grandvalira this season, and which has aimed to support women’s sport and the initiatives that are carried out in this regard in our country.
Precisely in the chapter on talent, Tomàs emphasizes that Var Group Andorra “is based on the company’s quality and offer standards, which include flexible hours – especially in technological projects that allow hybrid days – the ability to participate in multiple projects and at the same time that each worker is guaranteed a professional career in the most appropriate way”.
