CNN– The US has begun conducting strikes against multiple targets in Iran for the second straight day, US Central Command said Wednesday.
CENTCOM framed the strikes as being in response to “Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression.”
“U.S. Central Command forces began launching additional self-defense strikes today at 5:15 p.m. ET against multiple targets in Iran at the Commander in Chief’s direction,” the command said in a post on X.

Earlier Wednesday, President Donald Trump said the US would launch an additional wave of strikes as a deal with Iran had remained elusive.
“We’re going to be attacking them, attacking them very hard,” Trump said in the Oval Office on Wednesday. “We hit them hard yesterday. We’re going to hit them again hard today, in case you miss it, in case you don’t turn on your television set, and we’ll see what happens with the deal.”
Yesterday’s strikes came after a US helicopter had been struck by an Iranian drone, causing the two crew members to bring the helicopter down in the waters off of Oman. A US drone boat then rescued the crew roughly two hours later, according to Central Command.
