In turn, Iran had announced this Wednesday attacks against US bases in Bahrain and Jordan, in response to attacks by the United States, in turn justified as retaliation for the shooting down of a US helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz.
The targets of the Iranian air strikes were the United States Fifth Fleet, stationed in Bahrain, and a US air base in Jordan, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Iranian Army said in separate statements, cited by the Fars agency.
Iran used missiles and drones to attack around twenty targets, including F-35 fighter hangars in Jordanian territory and radar systems in Bahrain, it advanced to Fars.
Tehran warned of a “response more severe“, if what it described as American “aggression” continues, adds the Iranian agency close to the Revolutionary Guard.
The Kuwaiti Army indicated on the social network X that its air defense systems “are intercepting hostile targets”, without providing details.
You United States launched new attacks on Iranian soil at 5 pm on Tuesday in Washington, (9 pm in Lisbon), in retaliation for the shooting down of a North American Apache helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States Central Command (Centcom) reported that it completed a series of attacks against Iranian targets on Trump’s orders, including air defense systems, ground control stations and Iranian surveillance radars located near the Strait of Hormuz.
THE centcom assured that the operation constituted a “proportional” response to recent attacks against US forces and commercial vessels transiting the region’s waters, and stated that its troops remain prepared to respond to new actions that it considers aggression by Iran.
For their part, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in the statement that the US attacks damaged a telecommunications tower and two water reservoirs in the port city of Sirik, in southeastern Iran, close to the strait.
The helicopter which triggered this new escalation of tensions, supposedly attacked by Iran, crashed near the coast of Oman and the two crew members on board were rescued alive by US forces, as Trump himself announced early in the morning on Tuesday in New York, after a game of the NBA final.
Before this exchange of attacks between the US and Iran, Israel and the Islamic Republic targeted each other with missile launches on Sunday and Monday, which led Trump to demand an “immediate” end to the aggressions, including by the Israeli ally.
The North American President stated in the early hours of Tuesday that an agreement with Iran was in the “last efforts” phase and could be signed in “two or three days”, another deadline that he presents after several weeks of negotiations with the Islamic Republic.
