The president of Unió Laurediana, Pere Betriuconsiders that Naturland remains a strategic piece for a Sant Julià de Lòriabut he admits that the project still entails a feasibility problem that forces him to look for a fundamental solution. In this sense, he defends that the objective must be to “progressively reduce the contributions of the community until the park can support itself with its own income” and, eventually, generate an economic return for the parish.
Betriu maintains that the debate about Naturland cannot be separated from communal finances. He remembers that the municipality has invested a lot of resources there for years and that a hypothetical closure, “even though it may seem like a simple exit, could have a very high cost”. According to the alert, this decision could mortgage the communal finances for a long time and limit the ability to promote other necessary investments for the town.

However, he points out that there are actions that he would have proposed differently and defends that the minority ofUL must exercise a constructive opposition. His function, he explains, is to supervise the majority, provide a critical view and point out those areas where management can be improved.
Betriu it places special emphasis on the management of communal staff, which it qualifies as a sensitive area. He believes that it is necessary to combine a good working environment with an administration capable of guaranteeing that the work is done correctly. He also points out that running a commune is not very different from managing a medium-sized company, with various departments that need competent technicians and careful coordination.
