United National Congress councillor Vashti Sookhoo has died.
The UNC confirmed her death in a statement expressing condolences to Sookhoo’s family, friends, colleagues, fellow councillors and others who worked with her.
The party described Sookhoo as a “stalwart” of the UNC and a dedicated public servant who served her community with dedication and a commitment to residents.
The UNC said her death was a loss to the community and the party, adding that her contribution would be remembered by those she served.
The party extended condolences to her family and said it hoped they would find strength and comfort during their bereavement.
