Ukraine’s SBU security service claims to have struck a strategic oil pumping station in the Vladimir region with drones, Russiaused to supply Moscow and the main airports in the Russian capital. Following the attack, Ukrainian authorities say a large-scale fire broke out, while Russian officials have only confirmed a fire at an infrastructure facility.
“It supplies fuel to the main oil depots around Moscow, as well as Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Vnukovo airports,” the SBU said in a statement published on social media. The authority added that, following the attack, there was a fire on an area of 800 square meters.
The governor of the Vladimir region, Alexander Avdeyev, said in a social media post that the fire near the town of Kameshkovo had been extinguished.
Avdeyev’s post, cited by the Interfax news agency, referred only to the fact that the fire broke out at an infrastructure facility and gave no indication that it was related to the oil industry.
