Police are investigating a double homicide after two men were found shot dead along Taylor Avenue, Quinam Road, Siparia, early this morning.
One of the victims was identified as 39-year-old Osie Packette of Taylor Avenue, Quinam Road, Siparia. The second victim has not been identified.
According to police, officers responded to reports of loud explosions in the area at about 1:55 a.m.
When they arrived, they found a man later identified as Packette lying on the roadway with apparent gunshot wounds. A second man was also found nearby with apparent gunshot wounds.
The District Medical Officer visited the scene and pronounced both men dead. Their bodies were later removed pending post-mortem examinations.
Investigators recovered several spent shell casings and a knife from the scene as they processed the area for evidence.
Police said enquiries revealed that a white vehicle, the make and model of which remain unknown, was seen leaving Taylor Avenue around the time of the incident.
Investigations into the killings are ongoing.
