THE NTRC DRIVE PROJECT donates EC$8,900.00 worth of assistive technology and ICT equipment to three institutions.

The NTRC, through the DRIVE Project has donated EC$8,900.00 worth of assistive technology and ICT equipment to three institutions as part of its ongoing efforts to promote digital inclusion and accessibility for the elderly and persons with disabilities.
The donations were made on August 12, 2026, a release from the NTRC states.
The School for Children with Special Needs in Kingstown received two noise-cancelling headphones, while the Thomson Home received one Lenovo desktop computer and one projector. The National Society of Persons with Disabilities SVG also received one Lenovo desktop computer.
The donated equipment forms part of the NTRC’s Digital Resilience, Inclusion, Virtual Access and Empowerment (DRIVE) Project, which is funded through the Universal Service Fund (USF).
Distribution of equipment under the DRIVE Project commenced on July 29, 2026. To date, the Voice of the Disabled, the National Society of and for the Blind, and the School for Children with Special Needs in Georgetown have also received equipment under the project.
The NTRC said through the DRIVE Project, it continues to support organizations, and serve persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups by providing access to technology that enhances learning, communication, independence, and participation in the digital environment.
