Washington, June 23 (SANA) U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed on Tuesday that Iran has fully agreed to the highest level of nuclear inspections for the indefinite future, ensuring complete nuclear transparency despite conflicting public statements from Iranian officials.
Trump stated in a post on his Truth Social platform that despite alternative claims and media spin, Tehran’s total compliance was a non-negotiable prerequisite for ongoing diplomacy. Alongside these nuclear concessions, Iran has agreed to keep the Strait of Hormuz open without any further naval blockades. Trump warned that U.S. forces in the region remain stationed and prepared to reimpose the naval blockade if necessary, though he noted such a scenario appears unlikely at this stage.
The U.S. President explained that this new bilateral understanding opens the path toward lifting economic sanctions and stabilizing maritime transit. Under the agreement, frozen funds released by the U.S. Treasury Department will be placed into a U.S.-controlled escrow account, designated exclusively for purchasing food and medical supplies directly from American suppliers.
Trump concluded by noting that parallel negotiations aimed at reaching a long-term peace agreement to end the war that erupted on February 28 are progressing smoothly following the Pakistan-mediated memorandum of understanding signed on June 18 and subsequent diplomatic advances in Geneva last Sunday.
