“Zelensky has to do only one thing. Diesel fuel has to stop impacting Russia. Let it go against other objectives, but not against diesel fuel, because it is causing a shortage of diesel,” Trump told the media before a golf match in Ireland.
The US president spoke after Zelensky’s announcement that Ukraine attacked two chemical plants and a drone factory in the Russian regions of Perm, Samara and Rostov on Saturday, in addition to an oil depot, a radar station and a Pantsir-S2 system.
Trump accused Ukraine’s attacks on Russian energy infrastructure of “harming the world”in addition to ensuring that it is the war between kyiv and Moscow that is causing diesel shortage problems, not the conflict in the Middle East, published the EFE news agency.
“This is not about the Middle East. This is about what is happening between Russia and Ukraine. So we spoke with Mr. Zelensky about it. There are many other objectives. He should not attack diesel fuel because that is harming the world. We do not want him to attack diesel fuel,” he asserted.
The Ukrainian army also reported an attack on a plant in the Russian city of Tolyatti, in the Samara region, which is one of the largest Russian petrochemical complexes, according to information on its website. According to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Army, the synthetic rubber manufactured there is used, among other purposes, for the production of solid fuel for tactical and ballistic missiles.
In addition, Russian air defenses shot down 230 Ukrainian dronesaccording to official sources, who also reported enemy attacks in at least three regions with one dead and several injured.
