NEW-NICKERIE — During its surveillance on Monday night and Tuesday, the traffic unit of the West region seized several mopeds. The Suriname Police Corps reported on its website on Wednesday (today) that the carriages will be re-inspected.
The moped riders were stopped for various traffic violations. Their means of transport were equipped with modified engines, carburetors and exhaust pipes. These parts were seized by the police, while the offenders were issued a report.
The KPS calls on moped riders not to modify their vehicles in such a way that they conflict with legal regulations or could pose a risk to road safety. It is indicated that the police will continue to take action against road users who do not comply with the applicable traffic regulations.
