
Three compatriots arrived at Jorge Chavez International Airportthis Monday afternoon, after having been recruited through deception to fight in the war of Russia against Ukraine.
The citizens, part of the first group of compatriots supported by the Peruvian embassy in Russia to return to the country, they join three other repatriates, amidst complaints of false job offers that finally placed them at the forefront of the European conflict.

A first compatriot evaded the media without further details, while the remaining two were captured wearing t-shirts and covering their faces with masks, escorted by their lawyer. Percy Salinasand agents of the National Police.
When asked about the operation planned for their protection at the exit of the air terminal, the lawyer said that the measures were taken due to intimidation that both the repatriates and their families suffer from the network of captors.
“Because the families have been threatened and they want to threaten them too,” said Salinas, who pointed out “the recruiters” as the authors of the series of intimidating acts.
According to the victims’ defense, the case of the young people is just one part of a problem of unusual proportions, in which it is estimated that the number of Peruvians who traveled to Russia From September 2025 it would be about 600 compatriots.
