Thirty-five teens in Coast Guard Youth Summer Programme

SOME 35 YOUNG PEOPLE between 14 and 18 years of age on Monday, July 13, 2026 began a four week training programme being undertaken by the St.Vincent and the Grenadines Coast Guard Service.

TheYouth Development Summer Programme forms part of the SVG Coast Guard Service’s continued commitment to youth empowerment, discipline, leadership development, and positive community engagement. The theme is: “Shaping OurYouths for Life’s High Seas”.

Designed to expose young people to discipline, teamwork, leadership and practical life skills in a structured environment, the programme is being delivered in four phases, each phase lasting one week.

Co-coordinator, Chief Sasha Martin, speaking during the opening ceremony, said since its inception, 32-years ago, the programme has touched the lives of more than four thousand participants across SVG.

And, together with the sponsors, coordinators and facilitators, they remain committed to the mission of shaping youths for life’s high seas.
