In the village of Bijakovce on Spiš, on Sunday, they checked the emergency report of the relatives of a recently buried 60-year-old man. The family claimed that regular knocking was heard from the grave. The police at the local cemetery ordered the exhumation of the grave site.
Relatives came along of the Plus One Day portal shortly after two in the afternoon at the cemetery to light a candle. Subsequently, they heard repeated sounds reminiscent of knocking from the grave. They claimed that they spoke mainly at the moments when the deceased’s daughters spoke to him. The frightened family therefore called the police.
The man was supposed to die on Good Friday in the Levoč hospital after having his leg amputated. According to available information, his death was officially confirmed by doctors and he was buried only recently. According to television ta3 the exhumation took place 18 days after the burial.
The police arrived at the scene, and later also the firemen, who provided technical support in opening the grave site. The area around the grave was closed. According to ta3, hundreds of local residents watched the unusual attack on the cemetery.
After opening the coffin, according to ta3 information, experts concluded that the deceased was in exactly the position in which he was buried. The inspection has so far confirmed no signs of movement in the casket. Despite this, the police ordered the body to be transported for a forensic autopsy.
