    These are the 28 authorities of Guayas who voted in favor of Carlos Encalada being the new vice prefect | Politics | News


    The election of Carlos Encalada as the new vice prefect of Guayas, replacing Carlos Serrano, had the support of 28 provincial authorities, including mayors and presidents of rural parish councils, who are part of the Provincial Council.

    This collegiate body is the decision-making body of the province, it is made up of the prefect, the vice-prefect, the 25 mayors and 7 delegates from the 29 boards.

    In the session on Wednesday, April 22, in which Encalada was elected, there were 28 authorities, so the vote was unanimous.

    Who participated in the session and voted for Encalada?

    The 28 authorities present were:

    1. Marcela Aguiñaga, prefect (before RC, now independent).
    2. Luis Suárez, mayor of Palestine (RC).
    3. Mabel Tenesaca, mayor of El Triunfo (RC).
    4. Nery Jaramillo, mayor of Pedro Carbo (RC).
    5. Sandy Gómez, mayor of Balao (RC).
    6. Viviana Olivares, mayor of Yaguachi (RC).
    7. Mafer Vargas, mayor of Simón Bolívar, elected by the RC, currently independent.
    8. Wilson Cañizares, mayor of Daule (PSC).
    9. Juan Carlos Rivera, mayor of Naranjal (CREO).
    10. Isidro Morán, mayor of Lomas de Sargentillo (CREO).
    11. Rodolfo Cantos, mayor of El Empalme (CREO).
    12. Ubaldo Urquizo, mayor of Santa Lucía (PSC).
    13. Álex Quinto, mayor of Colimes (PSC).
    14. Pedro Orellana, mayor of Marcelino Maridueña (PSC).
    15. Luis Vargas, mayor of Isidro Ayora (PID).
    16. Ángela Herrera, mayor of Jujan (PID).
    17. Cristian Suárez, mayor of Naranjito (PK).
    18. Milton Moreno, mayor of Salitre (PSC).
    19. Luis Chonillo, mayor of Durán, joined the session via Zoom, he was elected by an alliance of local movements.
    20. Dolores Cabrera, mayor of Balzar, took office after the loss of political rights of the incumbent mayor; She was elected councilor for the PSC.
    21. María Belén Candado, mayor of Nobol, ascended to the Mayor’s Office after the death of the incumbent mayor; She was elected councilor for the RC.
    22. Yilda Rivera, councilor of Samborondón, delegate of Mayor Juan José Yúnez; She was elected by the PSC.
    23. Alfonso Solís, president of the parish council of Santa Rosa de Flandes, elected by the RC.
    24. Liliana Símbala, president of the Tenguel board, elected by the PSC.
    25. Hilda Castro, president of the board of El Limonal, elected by the RC.
    26. Valeria Calderón, president of the Mariscal Sucre board, elected by the RC.
    27. Yolanda Mendoza, president of the Progreso board, elected by the RC.
    28. William Pérez, president of the parish council of Pedro J. Montero, elected by the RC.
