According to JamJam reporter, not long ago, the family members of an elderly woman reported a violent robbery at their mother’s house by referring to the 5th Department of the Tehran Intelligence Police. They told the officers that their mother went to the hospital after being attacked by a robber. After attending the hospital and conducting preliminary investigations, the detectives found out that the elderly woman was badly beaten. This woman said in her statement: “Two days ago I let a young man into the house as a cleaner. He started working, but after a while he found out where my gold was kept. Suddenly, his behavior changed, he tied my hands and feet, and after beating me severely, he stole my gold, which was worth about three billion tomans, and ran away. If my children did not reach home on time, I might have lost my life. While a few days had not passed since this case, the detectives were informed of a similar robbery in the west of Tehran with the same method. Examining the CCTV footage of the second robbery site provided an important clue to the police and the image of the robber’s face was obtained. A week later, the elderly woman, who was discharged from the hospital, identified the accused by looking at the pictures and said: “This is the person who beat me and stole my gold.” When it became clear that the robberies were serial, extensive investigations continued to identify and arrest the accused, but for some time, no trace of him was found. Finally, on June 24, the detectives found out that the accused had gone to one of the coffee houses in the south of Tehran. Immediately, the operation team came into action and arrested him in a surprise operation. After being transferred to the police, the accused initially denied committing any crime, but when he was confronted with the available pictures and documents, he confessed to the thefts and said: “I used to enter houses as a service force and when the owner of the house was alone, I stole valuable property by threatening and beating him. Then I would tie the hands and feet of the loser and run away from the place.”
Col. Mousavifard, the deputy of Tehran intelligence police for combating special thefts, announced this news and said: “After the accused confessed, the buyer of the stolen property was also identified and arrested.” Also, in the continuation of the investigation, other property losers in this case were identified, and the accused was sent to prison after the completion of the case to continue the legal process.”
