Windhoek, (Namibia), April 30, 2026 (SPS) – Within the framework of permanent efforts to develop and strengthen bilateral relations between the Sahrawi Republic and Namibia, the Sahrawi Ambassador accredited to Namibia, Hamdi Mayara, continues his meetings with senior Namibian officials.
Hamdi Mayara was received by the Yemeni diplomat, Hon. Dr. Saara Kuugongelwa, Speaker of the Namibian Parliament, where the Sahrawi ambassador made a presentation to his host about the latest developments and the appreciation of the Sahrawi people for the Namibian solidarity and support for the cause. Sahrawi, before the Namibian official renewed her country’s position in unconditional support of the Sahrawi people’s choices for freedom and independence and its aspiration to develop bilateral relations between the Sahrawi and Namibian legislative institutions.

The Sahrawi ambassador was also received by Mr. Uahekua Hernuga, Assistant Secretary-General of the country’s ruling SWAPO party, at the party’s headquarters in the capital, Windhoek. In addition to the recent developments in the decolonization conflict in Western Sahara, the strong bilateral relations between the two national liberation movements, the Polisario Front and the SWAPO Party, were reviewed and ways to develop them and push them towards new horizons in cooperation and exchange of experiences.
