Dawood Najafian, explaining the latest state of the province’s dams, said according to the Ekhzada Online report, quoted by Isna: According to the latest evaluations, the total volume of the Karaj Dam reservoir is about 178.9 million cubic meters based on the latest hydrography, and the amount of water entering the Karaj Dam in the current water year is about 1.32 million cubic meters, which has changed significantly compared to the same period last year.
He continued: Also, investigations show that the amount of water stored in this dam has increased compared to the same period last year.
The CEO of Alborz Regional Water Company stated: The filling percentage of the reservoir of this dam is 88% based on the latest information recorded until June 30. This amount was 41% in the same period last year.
Emphasizing that the relative increase in water reserves does not mean that there is no need for consumption management, Najafian stated: Considering that this year is one of the hottest years in terms of temperature in the last century, the increase in evaporation of water resources and the growth of consumption can affect the stability of reserves.
He continued: It is necessary for citizens to pay attention to the consumption pattern and avoid unnecessary water consumption, including car washing, excessive use of water in green spaces, and waste of resources.
The CEO of Alborz Regional Water Company noted that consumption management, along with the provision and storage of water resources, plays an important role in sustainably passing the hot season of the year and maintaining reserves for future periods.
