It will be a film that the national director is already writing Alejandro Monteverde (“The Big Little One” and “Sound of Freedom”), who will also direct it, co-produced by Gaston Pavlovichwho has been behind “Silence” and “The Irishman”, directed by Martin Scorsese.
“For me, Gaudí was a challenger to the architecture of his time. But to truly understand Gaudí, you have to understand the inner battles that shaped his vision. Therefore, more than a biography of his life, this film is a biography of his soul,” says Monteverde in an official statement.
Gaudí, known as ““The Architect of God”dazzled by his use of geometry and three-dimensionality in his works, highlighting among others the Park Güell, the Colegio de las Teresianas and the Casa Vicens in Barcelona.
Due to his unique look he was chosen to give life to the temple of the Holy Familybut she was at that job in 1926 due to injuries caused by being hit by a tram.
Much of the original plans were destroyed during the Spanish Civil War, but it was continued for the last hundred years taking into account the little material available. The towers have a height of just over 170 meters high, that is, as if it were a building with more than 70 floors.
“Telling a story about the great Gaudí in the context of the official inauguration of his masterpiece is nothing short of inspiring,” says Pavlovich.
The biopic will be a production between Cinema Factory, from the Mexican; as well as for Ounce and Methos Media.
Gaudí’s works are considered a World Heritage Site, while his spiritual path led him to be declared Venerable by the Catholic Church.
