Luxury objects with spectacular stories and impressive provenances will be available for purchase at the beginning of June in a new auction organized by Artmark. Among the pieces that will come to the attention of collectors are jewels that belonged to the ex-wife of Emperor Bokassa I of the Central African Republic, but also a luxury accessory that was owned by Elena Ceaușescu.
The event, scheduled for June 4, brings together watches, jewelry and premium accessories, including over 30 items from the collection of Gabriela Drâmbă, who was married to Bokassa I.
According to information provided by Artmarkamong the lots up for sale is a gold Tissot Saphir women’s watch, valued at a starting price of 5,000 euros, a white gold bracelet with diamonds, estimated at 3,000 euros, but also a brooch made of two-tone gold, decorated with enamel, turquoise and pearls, for which the bidding will start at 2,000 euros.
The collection also includes a set consisting of a ring and earrings in gold with pearls, available from 1,000 euros.
Elena Ceaușescu’s Hermès bag, put up for auction
During the same event, more than 300 luxury items and decorative objects will be presented. Among them is an Hermès bag made of exotic leather, which the organizers say belonged to Elena Ceaușescu. The accessory will enter the auction with a starting price of 1,800 euros.
The selection also includes valuable pieces dedicated to jewelry and watch enthusiasts. A 5.01-carat white gold diamond ring starts at 28,000 euros, and a Mouawad necklace decorated with diamonds and pink sapphires is valued at 13,000 euros.
Collectors will also be able to bid on a 1986 Rolex Datejust with a rare malachite dial, which has a starting price of €6,000, below its current market estimate. Among the rarest pieces is a 6.74-carat Padparadscha sapphire, considered one of the rarest varieties of sapphire in the world, available from €7,500.
The auction will take place at Palatul Cesianu-Racoviță, headquarters of Artmark Galleries, on June 4, starting at 6:00 p.m. Until then, the public can see all the pieces included in the selection in a free exhibition, open daily from 10:00 to 20:00.
