The head of the German Interior Ministry, Alexander Dobrindt, demands permanent protection of the Bundestag from drones.

Dobrindt believes that the risk of possible drone attacks on the Bundestag and other constitutional bodies has increased.
In a letter to Bundestag Speaker Julia Klöckner, he calls for a permanent anti-drone system to protect key state institutions.
“The protection of constitutional bodies becomes especially important against the background of an abstract but real threat,” Dobrindt writes.
An increase in the number of drone sightings in recent months has made security services even more alert.
The reason for the letter was a request sent by Klöckner in December. In it, the head of the Bundestag asked to what extent the new anti-drone unit of the federal police could be used to protect the parliament.
In his response, Dobrindt clarifies that this unit can provide temporary support as part of administrative assistance.
