For four days, from June 11 to 14, 2026, Marrakesh transformed into the world capital of the automotive aftermarket. The ocher city hosted the Annual General Meeting ofATR Internationala major meeting which brought together the main international players in the independent distribution of spare parts.
Little known to the general public, ATR International is nevertheless among the most influential organizations in the sector. The group today brings together 45 shareholders representing 273 companies located in 67 countries. Together, these companies generate more than 40 billion euros in turnover and employ more than 213,000 people around the world.
The holding of this meeting in Morocco testifies to the growing recognition enjoyed by the Kingdom within the international automobile industry. Long identified as a platform for automobile productionthe country is now attracting the attention of major global operators for the dynamism of its aftermarket and the development of its after-sales ecosystem.
In a context marked by the aging of vehicle fleets and the increase in maintenance and repair needs, the global aftermarket is undergoing a profound change. Large distributors are investing in digitalization, logistics optimization and strengthening their networks in order to support changes in demand.
For Moroccan operators, hosting the ATR International General Assembly constituted an exceptional opportunity to interact with the main global decision-makers in the sector. Network shareholder, Autoplus/Maghreb Accessories notably contributed to the organization of this meeting in Marrakech.
Beyond exchanges between shareholders, the event also offered an international showcase to Morocco. Participants were able to discover one of the most dynamic automotive markets on the African continent as well as an ecosystem that is gradually extending its influence across the entire automotive value chain.
The organization of this General Assembly thus confirms the growing interest of major global after-sales players in Morocco. A dynamic which reflects the rise of the Kingdom in a strategic segment of the global automobile industry.
