Following the series of joint meetings of the parliament’s presiding committee and specialized commissions with the ministers, today the Minister of Science attended a specialized meeting and reviewed the latest situation of universities in war conditions, the continuation of education and research and planning for the post-war period with the parliamentarians.
At the beginning of this session, Hajibabaei, the deputy speaker of the parliament, said: Universities of the country should play an effective role in issues related to war and strengthen their active activism in this field.
He added: Considering the need to prevent academic decline in war conditions, in this meeting it was decided that universities that are not under direct threat will hold their face-to-face classes, and universities located in war-prone areas will also use the capacity of virtual space and alternative programs to continue education so that there is no disruption in the educational process.
The Deputy Chairman of the Parliament continued: According to the announcement of the Minister of Education, 15 days after the end of the war, the final exams will be held, and about 30 days after that, the national entrance exam will be held so that the candidates can participate in these exams with peace of mind.
In the continuation of this meeting, Alireza Manadi Sefidan, the head of the education committee of the parliament, said: access to the international Internet was raised as one of the serious issues of the scientific community in the meeting, and the relevant minister promised to follow up and solve this issue in order to provide more suitable conditions for scientific and educational activities.
He added: The subject of entrance exam and national exam is one of the topics that many candidates are concerned about when and how to conduct it. Also, online education in war conditions is another concern raised by students.
Also in this meeting, Science Minister Hossein Simai Saraf stated in this meeting: During the war, our effort was to increase the resilience of the academic community; For this reason, regulations appropriate to the war situation in the educational and research fields were formulated and announced. Based on this, the delivery of articles and some educational activities has been postponed until the appropriate time and after the final approval.
He added: Special arrangements have been made for the candidates who suffered damage during the war and especially during the month of Ramadan, which will be announced soon.
Also, at the end of this meeting, Abbasi Kali, the spokesperson of the faction of academics and future studies of the parliament, said: about 70% of the classes are being held in virtual form and 30% of the classes are skills and practical, which unfortunately we are facing problems in the field of skills that need to be solved. The infrastructure should be strengthened so that students do not face problems in this area.
The spokesperson of the academicians and futurist faction of the parliament stated: During this period, significant student activities have also been formed; In such a way that about 123 student surveys and more than 4 thousand scientific and cultural contents have been registered by students, which shows the dynamism of the country’s academic community even in difficult conditions.
