The National Museum of Natural History “Prof. Eugenio de Jesús Marcano” launched the third edition of the “Fauna Focus” photography contest, an initiative that promotes knowledge, appreciation and conservation of biodiversity through the art of photography.
Aimed at young people between 18 and 25 years old residents in the Dominican Republic, the contest invites you to capture the diversity of fauna in its natural environment, highlighting the importance of wild species and their conservation.
Participants will be able to submit photographs of wild animalstaken with mobile devices or cameras, thus promoting creativity and inclusive access to participation.
The selected images They will be part of a temporary exhibition at the Museum, where the public will be able to appreciate the talent of the participants and the natural wealth of the country.
Likewise, the three best proposals will be awarded, recognizing the technical, artistic quality and the environmental message of the works.
The first place will receive a prize of RD$100,000, in addition to a scholarship to study at the Instituto Técnico Superior Comunitario (ITSC); second place will get RD$60,000, and a scholarship at the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA); and third place will get RD$40,000, along with a scholarship at ITLA.
Likewise, four special mentions will be awarded, which will receive study scholarships at the Technological Institute of the Americas (ITLA).

The “Enfoque Fauna” contest has established itself as a space for expression for young people, contributing to the strengthening of environmental education and raising awareness about the protection of biodiversity.
