Wu Yize and parents
WST
The World Snooker Championship 2026 ended in the city of Sheffield.
Wu Yize and Sean Murphy fought for the trophy. After the first day of the final, a young Chinese was ahead. In the third and fourth sessions of the match, the Englishman had chances, but the 22-year-old Wu held on for the win.
Shawn trailed 7-10. He started the final day with five winning frames, and the promising opponent made mistakes in simple situations. All the same, Ize came to his senses – he won four frames in a row.
Murphy then took two more to make it 14-14. After that, U went ahead, but “Magician” caught up.
The fate of the championship was decided by the decider. U finished the series by 85 points, which was enough for the triumph.
