The Panama-flagged 185-meter dry cargo ship named “Zaltron”, which was sailing from Egypt to Russia, had an engine malfunction in front of Kuruçeşme during its passage through the Bosphorus.
Tugboats named Rescue-3, Rescue-5 and Rescue-9, affiliated with the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, were dispatched to the scene.
BOSPHORUS OPENED TO TRAFFIC
Due to the malfunction, the Bosphorus was closed to ship traffic in both directions. As a result of the work carried out, the ship was saved.
As a result of the work of the teams, the ship was safely anchored at Ahırkapı Anchorage Site.
The Bosphorus, which was closed to ship traffic, was also opened in the north-south direction.
