The University of Andorra (UdA) hosted this Wednesday a conference on the transnational candidacy a World Heritage of Unesco “The material evidence of the construction of theState of the Pyrenees: the Co-principality of Andorra“.
The session, organized by the Interdisciplinary Observatory ofHistory, Political Science, International Relations and European Union of theUdAhas been carried out by Joan Reguant Aleix, coordinator of the candidacy.
The project brings together twelve monuments, ten of which are in Andorra, and is completed with the Castle of Foixto Franceand the cathedral complex of the Headquarters of Urgellto Spain.
The Icomos evaluation committee visited last week the spaces included in the candidacy and will transfer the conclusions to the World Heritage Committee of Unesco.
The final decision is scheduled for July 2027during the 49th session of the World Heritage Committee, which will be held in Istanbul.
