In other transit news, James Bus Line has reached the end of an era in public transportation after nearly five decades on Belize’s roads. The company, which began serving commuters in 1978, officially handed over its public routes to National Bus Company. For generations, James Bus Line connected families and communities through early mornings, late nights and difficult journeys. Its buses travelled dirt roads, crossed flooded bridges with the help of dories and later moved along the transformed Hummingbird Highway. While the company is stepping away from scheduled public transportation, it is not leaving the road entirely. James Bus Line will now focus exclusively on private charters for group trips, tours, events and special occasions. The company is thanking the passengers, employees and communities that supported it throughout the years, as it closes one historic chapter and begins another.
