Following the results of the meeting of the board of directors on June 19, the Bank of Russia reduced the key rate by 25 basis points – to 14.25% per annum, it follows from press release regulator This is the ninth rate cut in a row.
According to Rosstat data as of June 15, annual inflation accelerated over the week from 5.51% to 5.63%. The Bank of Russia’s inflation target is 4%. As the regulator reported on June 17, the decision on the rate will be made “depending on the sustainability of the inflation slowdown.”
The key rate reduction cycle began on June 6, 2025. Then the regulator lowered the rate from 21% to 20% per annum. In July – up to 18%, in September – up to 17%, in October – up to 16.5%, in December – up to 16%, in February – up to 15.5%.
