Trump called the agreement reached on Sunday to end the war a “fair and good” agreement. He announced on Monday that the signing had taken place. Iran’s foreign minister said that negotiations on a final peace agreement with the United States will begin on Friday in Switzerland.
The easing of sanctions on Iran or the release of frozen Iranian assets under the deal will depend on Iran meeting its commitments. According to press reports, as part of the agreement, the United States may release a total of about $24 billion in frozen Iranian assets in four installments.
Regarding Lebanon, Donald Trump said at the summit that Israel “has been fighting Hezbollah for too long and too many people have died.” According to him, their relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “great”, but he added that he should “behave more responsibly towards Lebanon”.
Iran said on Tuesday that a possible Israeli attack on Lebanon or its continued presence on the country’s territory would be a violation of the agreement with the United States. According to Iran, the agreement with the Americans was made by two parties: the United States and Israel, and Iran and Hezbollah.
