An 18-year-old sales representative was assaulted and robbed while on her way to a bus shed in Frederick Settlement, Caroni, early Friday morning.
The victim, reported that around 5.40 a.m. she was walking along the Caroni South Bank Road in the vicinity of the Caroni Presbyterian School when she was attacked from behind.
Police said the assailant struck her with a metal object to the back of her knees, causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect then continued to beat her about the body before robbing her.
The suspect stole her black purse containing her Trinidad and Tobago identification card, $800 in cash, and a light blue Samsung S20 cellular phone valued at $2,200.
He then fled, running east along the Caroni South Bank Road.
