Anyone who enters the Kulturhuef in Grevenmacher for the first time might be surprised. Behind the rather plain walls of the former slaughterhouse is a cultural center that offers printing art and playing cards as well as a cinema, changing artist residencies, workshops and a museum shop.
The Kulturhuef has been at home in the former slaughterhouse for around 26 years. The building was built at the beginning of the 20th century and was used as a municipal slaughterhouse until the late 1970s. After several interim uses, it was given a new purpose at the end of the 1990s. The cultural center opened there in 2000. The building is owned by the city of Grevenmacher and the Kulturhuef is operated under a convention with the municipality and the Ministry of Culture.
