Two Romanian police officers have been on duty in Luxembourg City for almost two months. At the beginning of March, the Interior Ministry announced that Minister Léon Gloden (CSV) and his Romanian counterpart Cătălin Predoiu had signed a corresponding agreement. The presence of foreign officials is intended to create trust thanks to the common language and cultural background and at the same time act as a deterrent, as the Interior Ministry and its minister said.
“The first few weeks have been positive. The collaboration is working well and overall the project is going as we imagined,” the police press office said when asked. There was positive feedback from local police officers, particularly when it came to gathering information.
