St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), finished fourth in the 2026 Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOCES) Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States Track and Field Championships held at the Kim Collins Stadium in St Kitts and Nevis on July 4 and 5.
With a tally of 123 points, St Vincent and the Grenadines was bettered by St Kitts and Nevis’ 180 points, while Antigua and Barbuda tallied 171 and the British Virgin Islands finished with 130 points.
Completing the rest of the point standings in order was Grenada on 92 points; Dominica- 76 points; St Lucia- 72 point; Anguilla – 35 points; and Montserrat- 11 points.
St Vincent and the Grenadines copped two gold, six silver and two bronze, finishing with a tally of 10 medals.
The gold medallists were Romaul James and Kesiann John in the men’s Triple Jump and women’s 800 metres respectively.
James’ winning leap was 15.16-m, while John crossed the finish line in 2:23.27.
The duo were also silver medallists in the long jump, with James leaping 7.33-m, and John at 4.80-m.
J’avair Cato was another silver medallist and was second to James in the triple jump, as St Vincent and the Grenadines went one, two. Cato’s best effort was 14.92-m.
Also joining the silver takers was Handal Roban who deviated from his pet 800-m to clock 46.59 seconds in the 400-m.
Meanwhile, Brinesha Derrick- Bain took silver in the Women’s 100-m hurdles with a 13.91s timing.
Likewise, the quartet of Kyle Lawrence, Keo Davis, J’ Mar Saunders and AJ Delpesche docked second in the men’s 4 x 100-m in a time of 40.07-s.
And Mc Kish Compton and Reine Browne each had a bronze. Kish was third in the men’s 100-m in 10.45-s, while Browne’s 14.32-s gained her third place in the 100-m hurdles.
In addition to the medallist, Teia Laborde placed fourth in the Women’s 200-m, returning a time of 24.04-s, and was sixth in the 100-m, in 12.12-s.
AJ Delpesche’s 21.51-s in the Men’s 200-m gained him a sixth place.
There were two seventh places for Zekisha Kelly in the women’s 400-m and 200-m, registering respective times of 58.43-s and 25.05-s.
Coming in fourth in the mixed 4x 400-m relay was the quartet of AJ Delpesche, Keo Davis, Zekisha Kelly and Teia Laborde who ran 3:38.25 in the four-lap event.
Davis ran in the 200-m heats and Lawrence in the 100-m heats, but both did not compete in the finals, standing on the side of caution because of niggles felt.
