The implementation of this new Sutran surveillance base will allow strategic monitoring of the trips that connect Huancavelica with the rest of the national road network.
According to the technical specifications, Sutran will have control over a total of 61 authorized routes for regular passenger transportation with origin or destination in the department. It will supervise 1,615 scheduled monthly trips to Lima and neighboring provinces.

In addition, it will inspect more than 1,170 trucks and heavy-duty vehicles that travel daily through the region’s territory. And it will monitor two land terminals and 18 complementary services linked to the area’s transportation system.
This new control point seeks to decentralize road inspection services in the Andean zone. In that sense, the superintendent of Sutran, Gilmer Alvarez Zapata, assured that “this new Decentralized Unit will make it possible to close supervision gaps and strengthen control of land transportation through a continuous presence of Sutran in the region.”
