CYBER SECURITY BOARD IS MEETING
The Cyber Security Board met for the first time under the chairmanship of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
To the meeting; Vice President, Minister of Justice, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of National Defense, Minister of Industry and Technology, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Secretary General of the National Security Council, President of MIT, President of Defense Industry and President of Cyber Security attended.
ROAD MAP HAS BEEN LAYED ON THE TABLE
At the first meeting of the Board, Türkiye’s road map in the field of cyber security was discussed.
In particular, reducing foreign dependency in technology and developing local and national solutions were evaluated.
A STATEMENT WAS MADE AFTER THE MEETING
After the meeting, an important statement was made regarding the summit, which was followed closely.
The Directorate of Communications shared the statement in question on social media.

“It has been emphasized that CYBER SECURITY IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF NATIONAL SECURITY”
The following statements were included in the statement:
“At the meeting, topics concerning our country’s cyber security were discussed comprehensively. In addition to current risks, trends for the upcoming period were evaluated with a holistic approach, and information was presented to the Board about recent international developments.
It has been strongly emphasized that cyber security is an integral part of national security. In this context, the Cyber Security Presidency; It has been stated that it will continue its activities in order to protect our country’s digital assets, establish a proactive structure against threats, create a strong cyber security architecture at the national level and build a safe digital future.
Increasing competition, regional tensions and conflict areas at the global level; It reveals that cyber threats are becoming more complex and multi-dimensional every day. In this context, it has been stated that cyber security is a strategic issue that must be addressed together with its economic, technological and social dimensions.”
“DATA SOVEREIGNTY ISSUED UNDER A SEPARATE TITLE”
“At the meeting, the basic elements of our national cyber security approach were reviewed; especially the protection of critical infrastructures, security of digital systems and capacity development in domestic and national technologies were evaluated as priority areas.
Additionally, the issue of data sovereignty is discussed under a separate heading. It has been stated that data is not only a technical element, but also a strategic value; In this context, the determination to strengthen the digital sovereignty approach has been confirmed.
Increasing cyber resilience and deterrence capacity against current and potential threats has been among the priority targets. “In the coming period, an agreement was reached to implement concrete practices in line with the determined priorities and to ensure the active participation of all relevant stakeholders in the process.”
DECISIONS MADE
On the other hand, the decisions taken within the scope of the meeting were listed as follows in 4 items:
“• Strengthening inter-institutional coordination,
• Increasing domestic and sustainable capacity in critical areas,
• Improving preparedness and rapid adaptation ability against cyber risks,
• It has been decided to determine the fields of Digital Infrastructure, Digital Services, Electronic Communications, Energy, Finance, Food and Agriculture, Manufacturing Industry, Public Services, Media and Crisis Communication, Post and Cargo, Health, Defense Industry, Water Management, Transportation and Space as Critical Infrastructure Sectors.”
