The Samoa Police, Prisons & Corrections Services can reveal that the recent drug testing conducted on the Police Acting Commissioner and his executive team has resulted in no positive findings for illegal substances. This successful outcome follows the implementation of our newly launched Drug Testing Policy and Procedures 2026, designed to promote accountability and integrity within our leadership.
The drug testing initiative was conducted by the Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa (SROS) under strict monitoring protocols, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and reliability in the testing process. This thorough approach reflects our commitment to providing a safe, transparent and drug-free environment within the SPPCS.
The decision to implement drug testing for members of the Samoa Police Prisons and Correction Services arose from a recognition of the importance of integrity in authority. By proactively addressing potential substance abuse, we aim to reassure the public of the professionalism and ethical standards upheld by our leadership. The clean results serve as evidence of the dedication and responsibility of the Acting Commissioner and his executive members, who have set a strong example for others in the service.
The Senior Management personnel have gone through the same process and the results are yet to receive.
We acknowledge the collaboration and support of the SROS in conducting these tests, as their expertise was crucial to ensuring a fair and transparent process.
