Crossing the tracks – on crutches and with suitcases. This is what the train journey looked like this morning at one of the busiest stations in Dugi Selo. reports RTL Danas.
The train ride between Koprivnica and Zagreb turned into a bizarre adventure. The first obstacle is the transfer in Dugi Selo, and the second – much more dangerous – crossing the tracks. For the elderly, those with crutches and suitcases, it was particularly challenging, and some even fell.
“Well, it’s abnormal what they’re doing to us. Here, now you have nowhere to cross, the other day there was a crossing there, and now it’s here. Who knows how many days it will be in another place, it’s abnormal what’s being done. They need to set up a nice approach so that people can come and cross, and not for you to jump over holes, over stones. I almost died because I had to cross,” she says Manda Novosel Gornjak.
“Constant delays, inadequate transitions, unsafe, so in a word, terrible,” he says Iva Matijanović Šramek.
“This is total chaos. I came there from Zagreb today, the same delay, you don’t know where, where, horror,” she says Nada Krešić.

HŽ told RTL that due to works on the section between Dugi Selo and Sesvet, passengers were informed about changing to another train that was traveling to Zagreb earlier. They also claim that the traffic officer warned them about the “corridor”, i.e. the path by which they can get from one track to another.
“Unfortunately, due to the large number of passengers, who do not regularly get off at the Dugo Selo station, when the first passengers started across the tracks, the others continued to follow them, despite warnings and being directed to the “corridor”, says HŽ Infrastruktura.
By the way, Dugo Selo is one of the busiest stations in the country – about 140 passenger trains with 20,000 passengers pass through it per day.
