Defending the decision to raise the price of public transport, Andrija Kalinićthe president of the Management Board of “Prometa” from Split, stated that the vast majority of users will not feel it, because pupils and students already have the right to free transport, while people over 65 buy annual coupons at symbolic prices, from 1.33 to 39.82 euros. “If we add to that preschool children, as well as special categories of passengers who also exercise the right to free transport, we arrive at the fact that almost half of the citizens of Split obtain transport completely free of charge or for symbolic amounts”, cheerfully underlined the head of the local bus company.
