MEP PNL Siegfried Muresan criticized PSDstating that the party “again remembers its recent past” where, according to him, it had taken positions against European values.
Muresan claimed that PSD it would have been “an anti-European party” at times, accusing it of attacking justice, the rule of law and European institutions. He also said that the pro-European messages of the social democrats are, in his opinion, only declarative.
“PSD reminds us that in the recent past it was an anti-European party that attacked justice, attacked the rule of law, attacked European values and European institutions.
For PSD, the pro-European character is only declarative. In fact, they always feel better with the anti-European extremists”, said the MEP PNL.
His statements come amid political disputes between PNL and PSD, especially regarding the pro-European direction and reform institutions in Romania.
Censorship motion PSD-GOLDat the beginning of May
PSD and AUR leaders, Marian Neacșu and Petrișor Peiu, announced on Monday, April 27, that the political formations they represent have started joint efforts to initiate a motion of censure against the Bolojan Government.
Also, after this announcement, the president of AUR George Simion specified that the censure motion will be submitted after at least 233 signatures of the parliamentarians are collected.
Currently, there are 463 elected members in the Parliament (330 deputies and 133 senator), so that the absolute majority of 233 votes can decide the fate of the Executive.
“Following several discussions between the leaders of our parties, it was decided that Mr. Perișor Peiu and I (n. ed. the leader of the AUR senators) will deal with the technical part of a joint censure motion. It is an exclusively technical thing. The political approach will probably be explained during this day, by the party presidents. As you know, we have a BPN at 2:00 p.m. in which the final decision will be made,” declared the social democrat Marian Neacsu, ex deputy in his Government Ilia Bolojan.
For his part, the leader of the AUR senators, Petrișor Peiu, explained that, together with the PSD, his party is making a “joint effort” to draft a motion of censure to be debated in Parliament “somewhere at the beginning of May”, with the aim of dismissing the Bolojan Government.
“The two parties will have meetings in the leadership forums and you will have reactions, and approaches, and political explanations somewhere this afternoon, for now, in the spirit of transparency, we inform you that we have initiated the technical approach to write that motion,” Peiu stated.
