Summer cinema screenings will visit more than 15 cities in Lithuania, as many as five meetings will await the audience in June. In the first summer month, the festival will visit Tad Ivanauskas Obelynės homestead, Birštonas, Plunge, Vilkija and Užpalės. The program features films from the categories of feature films, short films, animation and student works. Visitors will see as many as 4 films in each city. The events will be hosted, and the guests of the film world will be interviewed by the familiar faces of the festival visitors – actresses Sandra Daukšaitė-Petrulėnė and Emilija Latėnaitė.
The festival will be opened by a screening of Lithuanian cinema in the homestead of Tad Ivanauskas Obelynės. The films “There”, “Concrete Children”, “Swirl” and “Dust, Bones and Miracles” will be shown here. The guest of the evening is Linas Žiura, Lithuanian director, cinematographer and screenwriter, member of the Selection Commission of the “Silver Cranes 2026” awards.
“We are very happy that “Sidabrinės gervės naktys” is coming to Tad Ivanauskas Obelinės homestead this year. It is symbolic that there is also a sculpture of a crane on the territory of Obelynė. Tadas Ivanauskas himself was famous for his love for animals – he raised not only raccoons or crows, but also cranes. That’s why we invite visitors to immortalize themselves by the brass crane sculpture standing here,” smiles Laura Auksutytė, project manager of the Kaunas District Museum.
According to her, the film program was also not chosen by chance.
“We believe that the documentary film “Dust, Bones and Miracles”, which tells about museology, restoration and the natural world, will sound very meaningful in this space. The apple orchard is a place where culture naturally meets nature – it is home to an old heritage apple orchard, rich in vegetation and life. We believe that this environment will help create a special cinema experience and bring the community together”, says L. Auksutytė.
“For a film to live, it needs an audience – whether it’s a small or a big city, we’re very happy that many people will see the film,” says Meinardas Valkevičius, one of the producers of the tape “Ten” nominated in the Best Animated Film of the Year category.
According to him, the audience of cartoons will see even more next year.
“I think that the golden age of animation is starting right now, marked not only by the abundance of films, but also by healthy competition. The creators of Lithuanian animation are doing great at the moment – this is evidenced by appearances at foreign festivals and awards here for unique visual performance and deep themes”, says M. Valkevičius.
In June-September, the festival will visit more cities. Their list includes Elektrėnai, Kalvarija, Klaipėda, Mažeikiai, Semeliškės, Jurbarkas, Ežerėlis, Kėdainiai, Joniškis, Vilnius, Šiauliai.
