Calling it “incredible news,” President Claudia Sheinbaum celebrated this Wednesday morning that the miner was found alive, while she confirmed that another was found dead.
“He is still in the mine, but one of the miners from the Santa Fe Mine in Rosario, Sinaloa was found alive. As you know, about 13 days ago four miners were left inside this mine. The rescue has not stopped from the first moment,” he said, recognizing the support of the mining company.
He stressed that the authorities have been “permanently” close to the workers’ families.
“Yesterday, after 13 days, one of the miners was found alive. They still can’t get him out because it was divers who got in. A place where there was a lot of water; they are waiting for the water to be pumped to be able to get the miner out. Unfortunately, another miner was also found, but now dead.

“There is still one person left to rescue and the work continues, and we hope that today this person who remained in this place for 13 days can leave the mine, and incredibly and fortunately he was found alive,” he explained.
The Ministry of Security and Citizen Protection reported this Tuesday that the miner, originally from Durango, was located at 1:50 p.m. after more than 312 hours of uninterrupted work.
