Shakira mourns the death of a worker from a company in charge of setting up the stage for the mega-concert that will be offered this Saturday on Copacabana beach, in Janeir Riveror, and who died this Sunday in a work accident: “My heart goes out to his family and loved ones.”
«I am deeply saddened for the family, friends and colleagues of Gabriel de Jesus Firmino, a local worker who lost his life yesterday at the scene. “My heart goes out to his family and his loved ones,” the singer said in a statement released by her team.
The victim, a 28-year-old security technician, died from the impact of “a stage assembly structure that collapsed,” according to the Rio Military Police yesterday in a note.
According to the testimony of other employees cited by the Fire Department, the young man “suffered the crushing of his lower extremities in a lifting system.”
When rescue teams arrived, the victim had already been removed from the accident scene by his companions. She received first aid on site and was quickly taken to a hospital, but she could not resist her injuries and died.
The Rio Civil Police have opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Rio de Janeiro is already preparing for the arrival of the Colombian singer, one of the greatest representatives of Latin music, where around two million people are expected to gather to watch the contact.
The megaconcert, which will be free, will repeat the model of the shows they offered Lady Gaga and Madonna in 2025 and 2024, respectively, which were attended by more than one and a half million people, according to local authorities. EFE
