KUJALLEQ SAYS STOP
Barely four weeks after the alcohol ban in Kujalleq, Allorfik Kujalleq is seeing more citizens in treatment and new treatment options in several cities.
Then Allorfik Kujalleq held an extraordinary opening in Qaqortoq at the beginning of October after the Municipality of Kujalleq’s temporary alcohol ban, no citizens showed up to seek help or treatment.
But the picture has started to change. Allorfik Kujalleq now states that around three to five new citizens have started therapy in Qaqortoq.
– It can be reported that we have approximately three to five new citizens in therapy in Qaqortoq, writes Allorfik to Sermitsiaq.
Treatment in several cities
Shortly after the alcohol ban, Allorfik informed Sermitsiaq, that they were ready to send therapists to towns and villagesif there was a need for it.
Now there are also new treatment options in several cities. In Nanortalik, a team has started with intensive group therapy, where the participants meet daily for four weeks. In four weeks, Allorfik Kujalleq expects to start a similar team in Narsaq.
However, Allorfik does not say whether it is the closure of alcohol in the Municipality of Kujalleq that has led to more citizens starting treatment.
