KUCHING (April 22): The body of a 14-year-old boy feared drowned while swimming at Kampung Segubang, Bau has been found.
His body was discovered at 5.36pm at a depth of about 10 metres, approximately 15 metres from where he was last seen.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel before his remains were handed over to police for further action.
Earlier, the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a distress call at 4pm regarding the incident, before a team from the Bau fire station was dispatched to the scene.
“The victim was among a group of six friends who were swimming when the incident occurred. Five of them managed to reach safety,” the department said in a statement.
