Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Foreign Minister, met Yvette Cooper, Foreign Secretary of the UK, in London on Wednesday.
The meeting focused on reaffirming the strength of the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries and their commitment to further consolidating and developing it across all political, economic, cultural, and scientific fields.
They also exchanged views on the most prominent current issues in the region and recent developments. They reviewed ways to strengthen preventive diplomatic approaches and enhance coordination and consensus mechanisms to contain regional risks and promote de-escalation and dialogue to achieve peace, safeguard maritime security and safety, and ensure the smooth flow of supply and trade chains, in accordance with international law.
The two ministers emphasised the importance of building upon the established partnership and mutual trust between their countries, and continuing coordination on issues of common interest, in order to enhance constructive cooperation and support efforts towards regional and international stability.
The meeting was attended by Badr bin Mohammed al Mandhari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the UK, and Dr Leanne Saunders, Ambassador of the UK to the Sultanate of Oman, along with a number of officials from both sides. — ONA
