Thus the Secretariat responds to the lack of a medical director since December… but does not say whether he will be appointed
SAN MARINO – Despite several families complaining about the lack, since December, of a medical director of Casale La Fiorina, for the Secretariat of State for Health, which replies to the article in “L’formazione di San Marino”the families of the elderly guests expressed their satisfaction. Here is what the secretariat replies in the press release, without however saying whether the Medical Director envisaged by the organizational act will be appointed or not:
“At the center of attention are not the credits of a past management, but the tangible well-being of those who live in the rooms of Casale La Fiorina. While the political debate focuses on boxes and organizational charts, the daily reality of the structure tells a different story, made up of proximity, listening and a clinical quality that those directly involved define as superior to the past. The Institute for Social Security, through the minutes of the recent Discussion Committee, takes a clear picture: the satisfaction of the guests’ families is constantly growing, precisely in correspondence with the new organizational structure.
During the meeting on 2 April, a spokesperson for the relatives confirmed that citizens are aware of the change of pace, underlining a clear improvement in assistance. A climate of trust that finds support in the words of the union representatives, who expressed explicit thanks for the current medical situation, defined as excellent and absolutely adequate for the needs of fragile patients. In short, the void feared by some recent news appears, when tested by facts, to be a construction denied by those who experience the RSA every day.
The coordination between the manager of the facility and the medical team is producing unexpected results. The management of the Social and Health Department was peremptory in reiterating that assistance has never been insufficient. Indeed, the constant presence of geriatric specialists guarantees coverage that even exceeds the minimum legal requirements. The human relationship and communication with relatives have become the cornerstone of the new management; in fact, doctors dedicate numerous weekly meetings to dialogue with families, a practice that has eliminated the sense of disorientation complained of in previous years.
Several observers have focused precisely on the difference between the “before” and the “today”, highlighting how communication between health workers and family members has radically improved, with the hope that this model will continue without returning to outdated patterns. Many say they are now much calmer and supported by the current management. Concerns regarding the lack of a stable reference figure therefore seem to ignore the fact that today’s team works in total synergy, guaranteeing widespread clinical responsibility and precise knowledge of each individual guest.
But the vitality of the Casale is also measured through the innovation of services. In addition to ordinary medical management, the facility is implementing cutting-edge projects such as technological monitoring of guests’ water balance and the strengthening of daytime relief stays, aimed at combating social isolation. It is a strategy that places the person at the centre, going beyond the mere bureaucracy of top roles. The Secretariat of State for Health intends to continue along this path: less superficial controversy and more concrete facts for the protection of our elderly. Ultimately, the serenity of a family member who feels welcomed and informed is worth more than any seat claimed on paper”, concludes the Health Secretariat.
