A red alert for food safety has been raised in Europe, while the case has also affected the Albanian market. A frozen soup product, made in Italy and widely consumed, has been ordered to be withdrawn from the market after it was deemed a serious risk to the health of consumers.
It is about the product “MINESTRONE 16 Verdure”, frozen vegetables weighing 750 grams, lot number L03DK and expiration date June 30, 2028.
The alarm was given after a consumer found the presence of a foreign and potentially dangerous body inside the package. After this report, the European Rapid Alert System for Food and Animal Feed (RASFF) has activated the notification with the maximum level of risk, classifying the product as a serious threat to health.
According to the data made public, in Albania this product was imported on May 14, 2026 by the subject “PRONATYRA TREG”. The entire imported quantity was distributed and sold in two trading points in Tirana.
After the notification of the withdrawal of the product from the market arrived, it turned out that the entire imported quantity had been sold.
The authorities call on the citizens that if they have bought this product with lot number L03DK and still have it in the refrigerator, do not consume it. The product must be returned immediately to the point of purchase.
