The motorhome owners of Andorra are preparing to formally establish an association with the aim of defend the interests of the collective and have a more direct conversation with him Government and the commons. theAssociation of Caravans and Campers of Andorra (AACAND)which will be chaired by Jordan Romerahas already prepared the deed of incorporation and is waiting to go through the notary to complete the procedures. The organization was born with the desire to group the users of motorhomes, caravans, campers and other camperized vehicles and give more strength to their demands. In statements to diary, rosemary ensures that the collective has a group of whatsapp of more than 300 people, who can join as partners. The initial structure will consist of a presidency, a vice-president and several members, with a founding group of between five and six people.
Among the initial priorities are consolidating a solid base of partners and establishing a network of cooperation with other similar entities of Catalonia, France, Spain and, if possible, also on a European scale. “Then, go and claim as an association that they allow us to make improvements or make things easier for us and for tourism”, he explains rosemary
The main claim of rosemary is to recover parking spaces for motorhomes near the center of the country. In this sense, it demands that areas like the Central Park in Andorra la Vellawhich would allow visitors to park and move on foot to the commercial areas. “For me it is a priority that tourists can go shopping, not just go to the slopes, sleep and that’s it,” he defends.
Another priority will also be to improve information for foreign motorhome owners about the regulations in the country. rosemary considers that many visitors are unaware of the restrictions and proposes that, at the entrance of the country, they are provided with information through, for example, a QR code or that this is published clearly in the Andorra Tourism websitewith a map of the enabled areas.
THE POLICE HAVE NOT IMPOSED ANY PENALTIES
The police has not yet sanctioned any person for spending the night or camping with motorhomes, caravans, campers or other camperized vehicles outside the authorized spaces since the entry into force of the new decree in May. A situation that rosemary evaluates positively, but considers that it “doesn’t make sense” to make exceptions for sports events after having approved regulations that, in his opinion, are prohibitive. The president of the future association claims consistency and clear criteria for the group against the measures imposed by the Government.
